Mandelic Acid 10% + HA offers superficial dermal peeling that is gentler than other alpha hydroxy acids. The molecular weight of mandelic acid is 152.1 daltons which is larger than other alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic acid is 76.0 daltons, for example). This larger size allows mandelic acid to penetrate the skin more slowly which in turn makes it very gentle and suitable for all skin types including the most sensitive skin. You don't need a concentration of more than 10%, because then you would simply be achieving an indirect peeling strength that is more easily offered through lower percentages of glycolic acid.
Directions: Apply once per day, ideally in the PM. Can be diluted with other treatments to reduce strength until skin develops tolerance. Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation persists, discontinue use and consult a physician. Use only as directed. Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.
Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

Have been using this product for just a week now and already notice a difference in the texture of my skin. As a first time user of this, I used after my serums and moisturizer to avoid any harshness. Will continue to build tolerance before I use exclusively. Definitey a great product for anyone to add to their night-time-routine.

So far, so good
I bought this and one other product from The Ordinary on a whim. I was hoping to even out my skin tone. I have been using my products (which I learned after purchasing, cannot be used together) on alternating nights. I find that my skin looks fantastic the morning after this particular product! I can't tell if my skin tone is any better yet, but it feels so soft and I am convinced that I have fewer fine lines. I love that this is so affordable. I will definitely be replacing this bottle once I use it all up.

Skin feels refreshed in the morning
Recommended for me by Deciem. I use it after hyaluronic acid and alpha arbutin. It's a light oil which I don't find too drying. My skin hasn't been irritated by it at all (no pimples or redness), and my skin feels refreshed in the morning. Still having a little trouble finding a good moisturizer to layer on top since the mandelic acid doesn't absorb right away. Love the prices of The Ordinary's products - I can experiment with different products and different combinations without breaking the bank.

This product is amazing at drawing all those tiny white heads and bumps on the skin out. I think that’s why some people break out often shortly after using it? Anywho, my skin has transformed and I’ve only been using this, retinol and the hyaluroric acid B5… I really really hope the prices can stay low so I can keep buying. It’s been years of playing and overpaying on products that don’t work. It’s so nice to be able to afford to try a couple diff products at a time:)

Not the best
Didn’t work for me.. I used it every night for about 2 weeks and didn’t see a single thing change about the texture of my skin or my dark marks. Then continued for another week before I stopped completely. All it did was make my face look oily before going to bed. Maybe I have to use longer to see results? But I think 3 weeks should be enough ... all in all, waste of money.

Wonderful results
The Ordinary’s products never fail. It’s proof you don’t need anything fancy to get results, and sometimes adding too much to your skin complicates things. This product does exactly what I’d hoped, and really has helped with some chronic skin issues I’ve been experiencing. The price point for how long these products last is awesome also.

Makes a huge difference for my dry skin
I've tried Retinol in the past and it is too drying, even when diluted or used sparingly; when I saw this recommended as a gentler alternative, I gave it a try, and it is seriously life changing. When I put this on at night, under a moisturizer (I use CeraVe lotion), I wake up with dewy soft skin the next day. Glorious! I'm a forever fan.

Glowy skin in 1 week
Greatly improved skin's texture and overall appearance within a week of using daily. My skin feels plumper and more glowy, and I typically have oily, larger pores and irritated/red skin. I'm able to go without foundation, and feel beautiful, I was pleasantly surprised!

Effective!
I began using Mandelic Acid a month ago. Wow it’s made a significant difference in my 60+ skin. It’s really brought an overall toned effect, smoother, clearer skin. Less wrinkles too. I am in love with this product!
