The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

  • Description & Features

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to help to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. A high 10% concentration of this vitamin is supported in the formula by zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance visible aspects of sebum activity.

Directions: Apply to entire face morning and evening before heavier creams.

Contraindications: If topical Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid and/or Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid) is used as part of skincare, it should be applied at alternate times with this formula (ideally Vitamin C in the PM and this formula in the AM). Otherwise, Niacinamide can affect integrity of the Vitamin C.

Notes:
While Niacinamide and Zinc PCA help to reduce the look of blemishes and balance visible sebum activity, neither is a treatment for acne.

Ingredients:  Aqua (Water), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Zinc PCA, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Xanthan gum, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.

Vegan, cruelty free, alcohol-free, oil-free, silicone-free, gluten-free, nut-free, pH 5.50-6.50

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff works! I have been using this for over 2 months now and waited to write a review and can honestly say the results are great. My dark spots from acne are almost completely faded, I have barely had any breakouts since I started using this and I believe this has even made my complexion more even in color. Even included a selfie so you can see the results. Freshly showered, only applied my niacinamide and zinc as well as a moisturizer. Very happy to see my skin looking so good after many years of struggle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from UMMMMMM I bought this maybe half a year ago. I love the ordinarys products and i have some pretty bad scarring and pigmintation so i figured i would give it a try. I apply before my moisturizer and i like it. It doesnt have a strong smell or any at all, the consistency is nice and easy to spread and it absorbs fast. It never broke me out or burned me in any way and i do have decently sensitive skin. However, after months of using i do not see much of a difference at all. My skin looks the same. I will repurchase in hopes that continuing to use it will help and because i had no negative effects from it and it is so cheap. But yea not sure it did much!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for Sensitive Skin I used this for months devotedly and left s positive review, but after not using it for weeks while I waited for a refill I realised that it really irritates my skin, so much that it's actually painful. Even after 6 months of using it devoutly diluted, my skin never built up tolerance. Unfortunately, I wasted a lot of money on stocking up on this (well, by The Ordinary standards...) before I learned. I am less positive about this brand than I used to be, since of the ten or so products I've tried from them, none of them have ended up working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helps with adult acne! So I have struggled with adult acne since....well, I became an adult. Of course people were like 'drink more water, eat healthier' blah blah. Then a friend who is a dermatology nurse recommended facial oil with niacinamide and pointed me to this. IT HAS CHANGED MY FACE. I'm not joking. I used to even get cystic acne along my chin. I haven't change my habits much other than drinking less alcohol and I can see a dramatic difference, especially along my jaw line, in reduced pimpled, redness and irritation. Seriously I could go on for hours about this product. I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for troubled skin This serum has a gel-like consistency, absorbs quickly and helps to balance your skin, particularly if you are oily. My skin is often, dry and flakey at times, but also excessively oily and this serum has helped to brighten and calm my skin down enough to make it a worthwhile product. I've used an entire bottle already and am on my second. My tips for applying this serum are to use it sparingly as a second last step, pat it in rather then rub and follow up with a moisturizer to avoid pilling as that is truly the only downside of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s super good I used it Two years for my neck and face , it really good for anti-wrinkles. I heard about that someone‘S skin is very sensitive with this product, but from beginning you can just try a little bit. And you will be surprised. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helped dry out my quarantine stress acne I was having terrible breakouts during quarantine despite very rarely wearing make up, so I decided to try this serum. I have tried The Ordinary’s glycolic acid and was only “meh” about it, but this product was great. It dried my acne without irritating my dry patches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! After a few weeks of using I can say I love this little bottle of goodness! The most effective way to use I found is when I take my baths because of the warmth and steam, it helps the product set in. I follow up with the Ordinary’s rosehip seed oil (also in the bath while my pores are open and really absorbing the products). I then pat my face with a towel when I get out so there is no excess. I still get some pimples but so far they have stayed very small! Will be ordering again!
