Description
Douglas Laboratories Each D.L Duo-Dophilus vegetarian capsule contains over four billion beneficial organisms, including a representative of both the Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus acidophilus genera, mixed in a base of fructooligosaccharides. Bifidobacteria and lactobacilli are the most commonly used and supplemented probiotics. The composition of the intestinal microflora is dynamic and constantly changing. Supplementation with beneficial microorganisms, such as those in D.L Duo-Dophilus, can help maximize intestinal colonization, ultimately leading to the promotion of a favourable gut flora. Once probiotics colonize in the intestines, they help support gastrointestinal health by increasing the release of antimicrobial peptides from host cells. Furthermore, probiotics help control the permeability of epithelial cells while preventing pathogenic adherence in the gastrointestinal tract.
