Vitamin K2 is required in order to use calcium in the process of creating a healthy bone matrix-it activates a protein called osteocalcin, which is involved in the bone-building process (it binds calcium to the bone, thus strengthening the skeleton). Vitamin K deficiency leads to inactive osteocalcin that cannot bind calcium to the surface of the bone.Vitamin K2 is from 100% MK-7, sourced from soy fermentation, and has been shown to be more bioavailable and last longer in the blood than Vitamin K2 from  MK-4.
