Echinacea purpurea is traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help
fight off infections, especially of the upper respiratory tract.
Echinacea purpurea is traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help
relieve symptoms of colds and upper respiratory tract infections, and
shorten the duration of upper respiratory tract infections. Supportive
therapy in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections (e.g.
common colds).
Recommended Dosage:
Adults: 3 ml 2 times per day. Take with food. Take at the first sign of
infection. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications or
natural health products.
Cautions and warnings: Ask
a health care practitioner before use: if you have an autoimmune
disorder or diabetes, if you are breastfeeding or taking blood thinners
or digoxin, if symptoms persist or worsen, if you are taking medications
to suppress the immune system immunosuppressive medications, if you
have a progressive systemic disease such as tuberculosis, collagenosis,
multiple sclerosis, AIDS and/or HIV infection or an auto-immune
disorder. Contraindications: Do not use if you are pregnant. Do not use
if you are taking heart medications, corticosteroids, stimulant
laxatives, or other health products that may contribute electrolyte
imbalance. Do not use if you have hypokalemia, high blood pressure, or a
kidney, liver or cardiovascular disorder.
