The location is unique because it’s safe from pesticides, uses overhead protection to stop bacteria and debris from getting into pools and is free from heavy metals. The product is extracted from deep pools of water nearly 400m below the ground. This ensures that the algae being extracted are uncontaminated, as other sources have been known to carry heavy metals. The product is produced in an attached ISO certified, HACCP certified, Kosher certified, organic certified, CMP facility. Their testing is done to ensure we not only meet but exceed Health Canada standards. Their algal toxin testing includes microcystins, BMAA, benzopyrene, pesticides and aflatoxins.

Spirulina is an edible, one-celled form of blue-green algae that’s been growing on earth for over 3.5 billion years. It has been enjoyed as a dietary supplement around the globe for centuries and was traditionally incorporated into Mexican menus during the Aztec civilization.
Considered to be a complete food, spirulina is grown in alkaline water and is commonly cultivated and harvested from open-air, freshwater pools. Because it is so easy to grow and harvest, it is considered an extremely sustainable food source.
