The best organically-grown cacao beans from the tropical fringe areas of the Andes Mountains and the Amazonian basin, working with Peruvian farming communities who cultivate them in a sustainable, ecological manner. Cacao powder is obtained by pressing the cacao liquor out of dried cacao beans to extract cacao butter. This leaves a kind of "cacao cake" that is then grounded into a fine cacao powder.

Very nice intense chocolate taste
I love this cacao powder for making my gluten free chocolate cake. So far it has been the nicest, most intense chocolatey tasting of all the cacao powders that I have tried. Someone commented about the ingredients saying cocoa powder and it indeed does say that for some strange reason. The main label says cacao and if you go to the Prana website, it gives the details of how the cacao powder is made. I suspect that the info in the ingredients is just a typo on the printer's part.

Excellent Product
I love all Prana products and the cacao is no exception. I find it mixes well, has rich depth of flavour and is quite versatile in many recipes. Would definitely recommend.
