Description

The most easily absorbed form of magnesium!

Magnesium is found in many common foods, yet some people have difficulty absorbing it. Taking magnesium in the bisglycinate form allows the body to absorb it without relying on stomach acidity like other magnesium forms. It is also a gentle form of magnesium.

Recommended Dosage:  1 capsule daily or as directed by a physician.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falsely advertised as Magnesium glycinate look at ingredients manufacture is misleading consumers This product has misleading labeling because the front makes it look like Magnesium Bisglycinate 200 mg but if you look at the ingredients its not, its a mixture of Magnesium Bisglycinate and Magnesium oxide. The is no real clarity of how much is what type and Magnesium oxide is approximately 4% bioavailble, so garbage if you think your buying Magnesium Bisglycinate 200. Companies should be liable for misleading consumers like this. Magnesium glycinate: More bioavailable than magnesium oxide, meaning your body can absorb and use it more efficiently Magnesium oxide: Less bioavailable than other forms of magnesium, so it may cause side effects like diarrhea

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is a lie. I ordered this product specifically because the label indicated that each capsule contains 200mg of elemental magnesium from magnesium bisglycinate; this form is not supposed to cause loose stools (which is my problem with the magnesium citrate I'm currently taking). I opened the bottle, and was immediately wondering why the capsules are much smaller than I expected. I have a precision scale, so I emptied the contents of one capsule onto the scale. It measured 900mg (or 0.9g). If this was pure magnesium bisglycinate, at best it would only contain 126mg of elemental magnesium per capsule. I confirmed directly with Webber Naturals that this product contains a significant amount of magnesium oxide. In order to 'fit' 200mg of elemental magnesium in 900mg of powder, at best it could only contain approximately 730mg of bisglycinate (~100mg of elemental magnesium) and approximately 170mg of oxide (~100mg of elemental magnesium). This also doesn't account for the fillers, which may further reduce the bisglycinate content in favor of the more magnesium-dense oxide (to achieve 200mg of elemental magnesium per capsule). Because it contains so much magnesium oxide, this product could certainly also induce diarrhea, whereas taking only the pure bisglycinate form should not. The whole reason I purchased this product was to avoid the gastrointestinal issues. The bioavailability of magnesium oxide is also much poorer than the bisglycinate form, at only 4%. That means that, at most, only 130mg of magnesium could actually be absorbed by the body per capsule. Webber Naturals cutting a cheaper and much lower bioavailable form into the more expensive bisglycinate form. Most other brands I've looked at indicate what forms of magnesium are in the supplement. Webber Naturals does not, and it makes me question whether I should trust other supplements this brand offers. I tried two capsules, and it causes diarrhea similar to magnesium citrate. It also doesn't deliver the amount of bioavailable magnesium I want. I'm posting this review because I wanted other potential customers to be aware. I had no way of knowing this prior to ordering, otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it. I have followed up with Health Canada’s Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD) to confirm if this product labelling meets guidelines, given Webber Naturals is not transparent in the actual forms of magnesium in this product. (One other thing I wanted to mention is that information indicates the bisglycinate form varies from 10-14% elemental magnesium depending on the manufacturer, so I'm assuming the best case in my numbers above. If it only contained 10%, the numbers would be much worse - i.e. 68mg of magnesium from bisglycinate, and 132mg of magnesium from oxide. Only 73mg of elemental magnesium would be bioavailable to be absorbed from each capsule in this scenario.)
