I have rosacea and am using metrocream for treatment, however as an evening facial cleanser, I mix abit of water with galaxal base and gently work it into my face and surrounding areas. It washes off beautifully and leaves my skin soft and supple. I used to use Estee Lauder and all the other expensive stuff - I wished I had discovered this sooner!.

Years ago, in an Ottawa pharmacy/health food shop, I asked about a recommended moisturing cream. The shopkeeper replied, in effect "we have this house product, but our chief pharmacist uses Glaxal Base." So I bought some and liked it immediately. For value for money, convenience and ease of use, I have found Glaxal Base the best I know.

I've been using this product on my 3 year old daughter for the past year and am very happy with it. She has mild eczema and dry skin in the winter. I didn't want to be using a product with dyes or parfumes on her and my pharmacist recommended this product. It's very effective and goes on nice and smooth. I don't find it as waxy or goopy as some other creams. It soaks in pretty quickly (necessary when chasing after a 3 year old to apply it) and has definitely improved my daughter's skin. I highly recommend it!

I have had chronic Eczema all my life. I am 25 now and i'm sure i'll continue to have it for the rest of my life. I needed a better solution then using a corticosteroid cream as it thins out your skin.
I would suggest ordering both Cerave and Glaxal Base. I still have to use corticosteroid cream once in awhile for really bad flare ups, but I try not to as much as I can.
Glaxal Base has a chemical/medicine smell to it that is pretty unpleasant. It isn't a disgusting type of smell, but it is strong enough to not be appealing. The people that say the smell go away are confusing this with your nose adapting to the smell. It's like when you put perfume on, you can't smell it, but other people around you can. This is my only concern with Glaxal Base. So I don't use it in the morning before work. I use Cerave in the morning because there is no smell and I use Glaxal base when I get home or before bed.

My mother has used this product for a number of years , recommended by her doctor for her sensitive skin. At 80 years old, she resides in a residence and I now purchase on her behalf - she has great skin , no doubt due to this cream . As a bonus, I discovered this site who provides it at a reasonable price and with great service!

my doctor suggested this when I was having problems with dryness and redness on my face. I LOVE this cream. It not only helps with dry, red skin, it changes the appearance of skin all together. It makes my skin look firm and fresh. I also use it on my feet, elbows, and hands and it makes my skin so soft!

I have the worst dry hands, flaking skin, yuck! This was suggested to me by a pharmacist. I tried the small size, because I have tried so many that have ended up being given away or thrown out. Glaxal Base is ther best by far!!!!

my daughter has eczema and after trying out all the different creams (no less than 10 :S), this is by far the best. It's light and does not cause any flare ups on her skin (Aveeno Eczema was the worst). Beware that there is a smell to it (almost medicinal type of smell), not unpleasant to me but it took some time for my husband to get used to it. It was okay'd by her pediatrician. I highly highly recommend this cream!
