I purchased it on a whim when I couldn't find miso where I lived (found it the next week though) and thought maybe this would work for some recipes. Love it! Great flavour--very salty, but I just use less/no salt in recipes where I use it. I often add a bit when I feel that a dish lacks complexity or depth in flavour. Great for adding umami to various vegan/plant-based dishes.

I looked for this all over the place and found it on Well.ca. It is a wonderfully tasty product . I use it in a salad dressing with brown rice roasted chickpeas and other vegetables. Thank you Well.ca for sourcing and providing another hard to find product. I live in a small town in Northwestern Ontario and we have an actual postoffice where I pick up the mail. The workers are now ordering from Well.ca as I have sang their praises so much.Super service, great selection of products.

I was thrilled to find that Well.ca carries this product and it was at a much, much better price than my local health food store.
I'm used to using the whole umbeboshi plums and chopping them up. This paste is very intensely flavoured in comparison. The description on the product page about how this makes the best condiment for corn on the cob is strange but very true. Delicious!
As always, Well.ca provided a great service and I will continue to use them.
